SUPERMOTO Bike Set Up

Tires: On the 17” tire classes you will need D.O.T. approved race/sport tires or race slicks. These “sport bike” style tires will be the step down from the all out “race slicks”.

Sportsman Tires: For our North Dakota races we will allow any knobby tire.  Most other race tracks require non-knobby tire (80% on-road minimum) that fits stock size rims. If you are running dirt track tires, we recommend soft to medium compound only for traction purposes. Dunlop, Maxxis, Pirelli, and Avon are some recommendations. Must run O.E.M. size tires and rims from manufacturer.

Suspension: You are allowed to adjust/shorten your suspension in all classes except Sportsman class.

Number Plates: All numbers must be contrasting colors from plastics or number plate backgrounds. Minimum size of numbers will be 5 inches. Sportsman class may use stock style enduro type front plate.

Fuel: All brands of race or pump gas will be legal. No alcohol, nitro, methane, or additives will be allowed.

TECH INSPECTIONS: All bikes are required to meet a maximum sound decibel limit of 96.   This is standard requirements to race in all states. Oil plugs must be either safety wired tied or siliconed to prevent leakage. You can dab the oil drain bolt with high temp (gorilla) silicone as a minimum. Catch cans must be installed on all carb and crankcase breather overflow vents or lines.  For our North Dakota races we will be a little lienient.  But, if you have any oil or other fluids leaking you will not be able to race or practice.  Kickstands must be removed. Snell 95 or newer for a minimum on all helmets. Must have goggles or full face helmet with shield for eye protection. Suitable, protective riding gear mandatory. See AMA rules if in question.

ENGINE: Must use water, Engine Ice or water with Water Wetter in all liquid cooled models. No antifreeze of any kind allowed!
